provenancesAshka is a Khemani woman in her thirties with dusky skin and hazel eyes. (One is burned bright gold later on in her story.) She has dark brown hair and thick brows. Despite the often gritty nature of her profession, she takes great care in her appearance and almost always appears well-groomed before she is on the job. She's a tall woman who often makes herself even taller by wearing heeled boots. She is of an average weight with an hour glass build with slightly more weight on the bottom. She has a few moles.
Ashka usually wears either more traditional Khemani billowy trousers or worn leather pants when traveling. Large belts or girdles over simple linen or more ornate brocade tops. She also has gloves, heavy cloaks, and hats that are more common for traveling hunters as well. On her own time, she likes more traditional ornate Khemani vests and silk dresses. Ashka prefers blacks, browns, and rich purples and reds.

overly independent. egocentric. callous at times. results driven. arrogant and over-confident.
She prioritizes her own desires and needs over most others, but has a weakness for children and lone women in need. She has been known to put herself and potentially innocent people in danger while working as a hunter, but ultimately she doesn't try to get anyone hurt, she just accepts it's unavoidable. She tends to believe that the ends justify the means, but is having that challenged on her journey. Ashka has a tendency to believe that people don't usually say what they mean and therefore doesn't trust easily. In truth, she has her own struggles with being vulnerable and does desire some level of closeness. She's learning to friend.
Ashka enjoys banter and teasing. She's very confident in her own skin.

• Born to a wealthy, influential family in the capitol city in Khem. Eldest of 3 children.
• Voidsight has been in the family for generations. Though it can be taught, it is more genetically tied and usually one person is born every generation with a knack for it. This was Ashka and apparent even as an infant (her eyes have a cat-like reflective quality).
• Accident occured when her grandmother was babysitting her where he grandmother died in protecting Ashka from a Voidrift and a Voidbeast. Ashka doesn't remember this, but ever since then her Voidsight has been enhanced. This is also what's believed to allow her to Voidwalk later on. This was kept from Ashka for several yaers. She therefore wasn't really trained in how to use her Voidsight and would Voidwalk on accident.
• Growing up in high society, Ashka was well-schooled but somewhat cloistered out of fear for her safety after the accident. She had trouble making friends, but became a quick learner in manners of commerce and society.
• Ashka was intended to take over the family business and help her family make further moves into influencing parliament. BBut once she found out what happened with her grandmother, in combination with all the strange experiences she had with her abilities thinning the veil between spheres, she decided instead to become a monster hunter.
• At first, it was very much "rich girl plays at a dirty job". She played at divination as high society liked to believe Voidsight could tell them their furture and deepen their pockets, but Ashka was mostly using it as a means to gain contacts and influence. Most real hunters didn't take her seriously for several years and she continued under the guise she would step up to the head of her family despite this night job.
• But through her own pride, stubborness, and quick-thinking, Ashka began to hone genuine skills as she took on a few real monster hunting jobs outside the capitol city.
• Ashka continues to be something of a "gilded hunter" with her family's pocketbook never too far out of reach. Though she's unafraid to get messy and bloody, Ashka still likes finer things.
Voidsight has been considered a type of divination, but the reality is that an attack might be "foretold" simply by seeing the presence of a specific voidbeast nearby. Ashka's Voidsight has been passed down in her family line.
The Allied Cities of Khem have the most powerful economy in the northern hemisphere, while the Kingdom of Midderice to the west has been recently plagued with political upheaval due to a forced migration of Fe (elves) from the south. The Isle of Celaeura is miraculously protected from both weather and beast, though no one knows how or why, so many other nations watch them with suspicion. A middle class really only exists in certain areas of Khem and Celaeura. Jotunheim to the far north remains mostly untouched and sets apart from many other areas.
The southern fourth of the sphere has been overtaken with Voidrot. This is where the Void has become so thin that it seeps into the First Sphere and has begun to overtake it. As such, much of that land has been abandoned and forced people to migrate northward.
